The biggest update yet. Feather listens to lectures and meetings and turns them into notes, in any language. Write by hand with an Apple Pencil, plan your tasks on a board, pick a theme, and format with a toolbar. Your notes are still plain files, exactly where you left them.

- One tap to record. A slim bar shows a live waveform, the time and the latest words. Click them for the whole transcript.
- Any language. Feather works out which of 99 languages is being spoken as it goes, and writes each one down as it's said.
- On your device. The sound is transcribed on your computer or phone and never leaves it. With a graphics card it keeps up live.
- Smart notes. With a free Feather account, the transcript becomes notes when you stop: a summary, key points, decisions, to-dos with due dates, and tables where they help. Lecture, meeting or voice memo, it works out which. Offline, it's finished when you're back.
Handwritten notes
A handwritten note is the whole page, like a notebook. A pen, a pencil, a brush and a highlighter that feel how hard you press with an Apple Pencil or any pen, in any colour and three widths. Erase, undo, redo, and choose lined, grid, dotted or blank paper. With a pen, only the pen draws: your finger scrolls and a resting palm is ignored.
Tasks
Every to-do in every note, in one place: on a board (To do, In progress, Done) or by when it's due. Drag a card across or tap its status, add tasks right on the board, and give them due dates and reminders. Dates are written into the note the way other Markdown apps write them, so they travel with your notes.
Themes and a toolbar
Six themes made by us in Settings, Themes: Sepia, Forest, Fjord, Midnight, Rose and Graphite, each in light and dark. And a formatting toolbar along the top of every note, for headings, to-dos, lists, links, tables, pictures and handwriting. Markdown and / work just as before.
Also new
- Pin, Archive and Trash. Pin notes to the top, archive what's done, and get back anything deleted for 30 days.
- Import from a Markdown folder, Notion, Evernote, or Apple Notes on a Mac.
- Locked notes. Encrypted with a password only you know. Nobody can open them without it, not even Feather.
- Export as PDF, or print a note, pictures and all.
- Faster typing in very long notes, and device sync without duplicate conflict copies.
